Sheriff’s officials received reports of a shooting on H Street in Mojave at approximately 11:20 p.m. on April 30, 2023. Deputies were dispatched to the scene and found that three individuals had been pronounced dead on site. Another victim passed away several hours later while receiving medical attention at Antelope Valley Hospital.
The Superior Court’s probable cause declaration stated that Partida-Reyes had been witnessed arguing with two of the victims earlier in the day.
The declaration stated that Partida-Reyes was spotted carrying a gun at the location of the murders before they occurred. It was also observed that Partida-Reyes fled the scene following the murders.
According to reports, Partida-Reyes is accused of shooting someone in Mojave earlier, on the same day as the homicides. Thankfully, the victim survived the attack.
According to the declaration, the spent shell casing discovered at the scene was a match for the casings found at the quadruple homicide, indicating that the same firearm was used in both shootings.
The individuals who lost their lives have been identified the victims by the coroner’s office and are as follows:
-
- Darius Travon Canada, 31, of Mojave.
- Anna Marie Hester, 34, of Mojave.
- Martina Barraza, 33, of Mojave.
- Faith Leighanne Rose Asbry, 20, of California City, was pronounced dead at Antelope Valley Hospital.
