Detectives from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department are looking into a physical altercation that appears to have been the result of road rage following a collision in a West Hollywood parking lot that claimed the life of a man.
The incident was reported at approximately 1 p.m. in the 7900 block of Santa Monica Boulevard, at Hayworth Avenue, according to a news release from the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department.
LASD Lt. Daniel Vizcarra informed KTLA that the preliminary investigation revealed that two men collided in the parking lot of a strip mall, although the precise circumstances of the situation are unknown. Details are limited.

Witnesses informed KTLA that the two men, who appeared to be in their 40s or 50s, exited their vehicles and engaged in a verbal argument before the situation escalated into a physical altercation.
The incident transpired while Sean Harrison was dining at the Mexican restaurant located in the strip mall. He informed Chris Wolfe of KTLA that two men were engaged in a physical altercation when the larger man suddenly struck the smaller man, causing him to become incapacitated.
“However, it did not appear to be a punch that would result in fatality,” he continued.
Both men were transported to the hospital for treatment of their injuries. The individual who was rendered comatose at the scene was subsequently declared deceased.
Harrison stated, “Just one strike.” “I am hesitant to speak out, as you never know.”
Video from the scene shows that the area was crime scene taped off as investigators worked to gather evidence close to a white pickup truck and an older model minivan outside of a 7-Eleven store.
A 31-year-old woman sustained grievous injuries in a hit-and-run accident in Southern California.
It was not immediately clear how the survivor, who authorities had detained pending further investigation, was doing.
Harrison acknowledged that he was in a state of shock following the fatal altercation and was struggling to maintain his composure.
He stated, “My father is currently succumbing to cancer.” “He is battling for his life, and this individual likely did not anticipate his own demise today.” It is simply abhorrent.
The authorities have not yet disclosed the identities of the two people.
