Between January and November of 2023, U.S. customs officers scrutinized seven shipments that were destined for Australia. Upon inspection, they discovered methamphetamine hidden within the shipments that were deceitfully labeled as carpets and textiles, furniture, wheel hub testing equipment, and a casting machine. Further investigation revealed that the companies listed as the shippers were fraudulent and did not actually exist.

On Thursday, Law enforcement was able to track down Li, who was driving near a South El Monte warehouse where a robbery was reported during the early morning of August 8. The shipments were traced back to him and as a result, he was arrested.

Law enforcement officials discovered a package of methamphetamine, along with shipping labels and scales, at the warehouse.

Should Li be found guilty, he would be required to serve a minimum of 10 years in federal prison, with the possibility of a life sentence.
