A solo vehicle crash was reported on June 15 at the area of 2100 Oakland Road, according to the San Jose Police Department. It has been revealed that the woman involved in the crash left the scene and was found dead at her home two days later.
The police reported that a gray Hyundai SUV from 2012 collided with a tree in the center median while traveling on Oakland Road. Witnesses observed the female driver of the SUV leaving the crash site.
On June 17th, at approximately 9:51 p.m., officers from the SJPD responded to a reported death at the residence of the registered owner of the SUV. Despite their efforts, they were unable to locate her during their initial visit.
The Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office informed the SJPD Traffic Investigation Unit on Monday that the accident was determined to be a significant contributing factor to the cause of death. This tragic incident has now become the 31st fatal crash and the 31st traffic-related death in San Jose this year.
The Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the victim.
