The California Highway Patrol has verified that a pedestrian passed away in Sunnyvale on Monday evening as a result of a car collision.
The collision occurred near state Route 237 on Highway 101 and was reported to the California Highway Patrol at 10:20 p.m.
The fatality was the result of a collision involving at least two vehicles.
A Toyota Camry sustained moderate frontal damage, while a Chevrolet Malibu was inverted on its roof. As of yet, the California Highway Patrol (CHP) did not possess definitive information regarding the vehicle that injured the pedestrian.
The accident obstructed all northbound lanes of Highway 101 at Mathilda Avenue and all southbound lanes of Highway 101 on State Route 237.
