In North Hollywood on Monday afternoon, a vehicle collided with a pole, resulting in the occupants being trapped inside and causing injury to an additional individual, who authorities suspect may have been a pedestrian or bicyclist.
The Los Angeles Fire Department reported a crash at approximately 1:15 p.m. The incident occurred in the 11000 block of Victory Boulevard, at the intersection with Vineland Avenue, according to an alert issued by the department.
The LAFD reported that following the accident, one or more individuals were trapped in the vehicle involved in the collision. Additionally, they discovered that a pedestrian or possibly a bicyclist had also sustained injuries.
According to the latest update from LAFD officials, it has been clarified that the vehicle involved in the incident struck a 22-year-old pedestrian, rather than a bicyclist. Following the collision, the car proceeded to collide with a traffic signal pole, causing it to fall onto the vehicle and trap two individuals, aged 26 and 25.
The pedestrian and the two individuals inside the sedan were transported to a regional trauma center in serious condition.
In addition, a 65-year-old woman in another vehicle suffered a minor injury and chose not to seek further medical assistance. Fire officials did not provide specific information on how she sustained her injury.
