The victim, who received treatment for injuries that were not life-threatening, had no prior acquaintance with Morales, according to authorities.

District Attorney Gascón expressed his condolences and sympathies to the victim and his family, following the tragic and senseless incident. He emphasized that no one should ever have to fear being randomly attacked while going about their daily lives. Gascón condemned the act of violence as cowardly and unacceptable, and assured that his office is fully dedicated to ensuring that justice is served for the victim and his loved ones.

The prosecution asked for a bail of $1,045,000 for the 32-year-old.

If Morales is found guilty as charged, he could potentially face a sentence of life imprisonment, according to authorities.

The Los Angeles Police Department is currently investigating the case.
