Authorities in South Los Angeles are continuing their search for a brother and sister who were taken by their parents during a supervised visit earlier this month.
According to ABC7, 2-year-old Willow and 4-year-old Wyman were placed in foster care last year after their newborn sibling tested positive for drugs. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department revealed that their parents, Tiffany Bryant, 39, and David James, 53, fled with the children from a Department of Child Support Services facility.
Authorities reported that the parents were behind the wheel of a brown 2008 Buick Enclave SUV. The vehicle had a blue paper license plate in the front and was missing a license plate at the rear.
They were last seen in the 8300 block of Vermont Avenue around 3:10 p.m.
Nina Glass, from the nonprofit organization Search and Rescue San Antonio TX Inc., is offering support to the foster family who had been taking care of Wyman and Willow when they were kidnapped. According to Glass, James and Bryant left their third child, who is now 15 months old, at the Department of Child Support Services during their supervised visit.
According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the child has been under the care of his caregivers for about a year.
The Department of Children and Family Services expressed its concern for the well-being of the missing children, acknowledging the community’s shared worry. However, they refrained from divulging any specific information about the case, citing state confidentiality laws.
Willow is a small child, measuring 2 feet in height and weighing 28 pounds. She has beautiful brown eyes and blonde hair. The last known outfit she was wearing consisted of a blue shirt, pink and white shorts, and pink and white Nike shoes. Willow’s brother, Wyman, is also a small child, measuring 2 feet in height and weighing 35 pounds. He has blonde hair and striking blue eyes. Wyman was last seen wearing a blue shirt and gray shorts.
Concerns have been raised about the well-being of the children, although no further details have been provided by authorities.
According to Glass, who regularly updates her nonprofit’s social media accounts with information on missing people, there have been no recent sightings of the family since they were last spotted. In response, an Amber Alert was issued on August 19th, urging residents in Southern California to remain vigilant for any signs of the parents and children.
“We are actively sharing daily updates regarding the case,” Glass explained. “Our primary objective is to ensure that anyone who comes across these reminders is fully aware of the appearance of the individuals involved in the case.”
