Two individuals lost their lives and at least two others sustained injuries in a multi-vehicle collision that occurred on a freeway connector road in Cerritos on Sunday morning.
The California Highway Patrol reported that the crash occurred around 6:35 a.m. on the road connecting the eastbound Riverside (91) Freeway to the southbound San Gabriel River (605) Freeway.
According to a Los Angeles County Fire Department dispatcher, paramedics arrived at the scene at 6:40 a.m. and quickly transported at least two people to a hospital.
The crash included a white pickup truck, a silver pickup truck, and a big rig, with at least one individual trapped inside the vehicle.
At 6:54 a.m., authorities closed all eastbound lanes of the 91 Freeway at the 605 Freeway.
