An arrest and charges have been made against a guy from California for the savage murder of his elderly parents and their dog. The deaths of Ronald Walter Gerdvil, 77, and Antoinette Gerdvil, 79, are the subject of two counts of homicide against San Juan Capistrano resident Joseph Brandon Gerdvil, 41. The Orange County Sheriff’s Department. reports that the two victims were discovered in their residences, both with their heads chopped off.
Around 7:36 a.m. on Tuesday, deputies were called to the family’s mobile home park near the 32000 block of Alipaz Street in response to reports of a domestic assault. They called the scene “horrific,” describing the old couple’s and their dog’s decapitation and mutilation.
Not long after, another complaint about a blood-covered guy chasing a maintenance worker in the same neighborhood was made to authorities. On Calle Arroyo, close to the end of a bike route, deputies found Gerdvil riding a pilfered golf cart.

When Gerdvil was recognized, there was a deputy-involved gunfire that resulted in Gerdvil being hit several times. After being brought to a nearby hospital, his status is stable. It’s still unknown whether Gerdvil had a gun or what particularly sparked the shooting.
Charges and an investigation
Once Gerdvil has received his medical clearance, he will face two homicide charges. Gerdvil resided at the mobile home site with his parents. According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, as the investigation continues, Gerdvil might be charged with other crimes.
The day before the killings, a neighbor claimed to have witnessed Gerdvil quarreling with his father. The neighbor remarked, “Younger guy was in his face, pointing his finger at him.” Another neighbor speculated that Gerdvil’s staying with his parents might be due to a drug problem.
On his YouTube channel, Gerdvil posted songs with eerie names like “Pope on a Rope” and “Shots Fired,” along with several unnerving posts regarding Jehovah’s Witnesses.
The police are still looking into the deputy’s shooting of Gerdvil, so they have not yet revealed the motive for the killings. The case has horrified the locals of San Juan Capistrano, who are looking for explanations.
