Slim 400, a rising rapper, was shot and killed on Wednesday night in Inglewood, according to authorities.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office announced on Tuesday that an ex-convict had received a sentence of more than 30 years in prison for the murder of Compton rapper Slim 400. The verdict was delivered by a judge in Inglewood , California.
In 2021, Michael Lanell Terry received a 32-year sentence after being found guilty of the shooting death of Vincent Cohran Jr., better known as Slim 400. Terry pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter on July 15th in relation to the case.
Officials have reported that on the morning of December 8, 2021, Terry shot and killed 33-year-old Cohran during a struggle in Cohran’s Inglewood front yard.
According to the local police, rapper Slim 400 from Compton lost his life in a shooting in Inglewood.
District Attorney George Gascón expressed his condolences to the families of Mr. Cohran, an esteemed artist in the Los Angeles community, who was taken away too soon by an act of gun violence. The Community Violence Reduction Unit, under his leadership, is committed to prosecuting such cases to ensure the safety of the community. Gascón firmly believes that gun violence has no place in our society and pledges to work closely with the communities to prevent such senseless crimes.

On the case’s codefendant, Tamara Lynn Bell, who was arrested alongside Terry at the same time, it has been reported that she has entered a guilty plea to felony accessory after the fact. Her sentencing is set to take place on January 15, 2025.
