LONG BEACH, Calif. – Authorities have apprehended three gang members in connection to the fatal shooting of a Long Beach food vendor that took place four months ago.
Yener Hudiel Ramirez-Miranda lost his life on March 20, 2024, while he was selling food in the 100 block of East Eagle Street.
According to investigators, Ramirez-Miranda was an innocent victim of a shooting that occurred nearby. He had no involvement in the incident but was hit by one of the bullets.
According to the Long Beach police department, they have apprehended three suspects involved in the murder of a street vendor. The unfortunate victim was caught in the middle of a gang-related shootout that took place in March.
After reviewing the security camera footage, the authorities successfully identified three individuals who were present during the shooting. Recently, on July 22, the Long Beach Police Department made a public announcement regarding the arrest of these three suspects.
James Arthur Havlicheck Jr, Raylon Deshawn Akers, and Rahman Snook were the individuals identified, aged 33, 23, and 19 respectively.
The authorities have charged Abdallah and Akers with murder, and their bail has been set at $2 million. Havlicheck, on the other hand, has been charged with being an accessory to murder, and his bail has been set at $1 million.
According to detectives, the shooting was gang-related and unfortunately, Ramirez-Miranda was caught in the crossfire as an innocent victim.
Police officers confiscated several firearms and conducted search warrants in Long Beach, Huntington Beach, Lakewood, and Los Angeles during the arrests.
According to the detectives, the suspects discharged firearms targeting individuals whom they perceived as members of a rival gang.
Long Beach Mayor Rex Richardson emphasized that the city does not tolerate gun violence and is fully committed to breaking the cycle of gang-related violence in the area. The safety of all residents is of utmost importance to the city, and they will take all necessary measures to ensure it.
