According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, a man shot and killed a woman in Lancaster early on Sunday morning before making an attempt on his own life. The man is currently in critical condition.
Two Hispanic adults, a male and a female, were involved in an incident in Lancaster, the Sheriff’s Department reported on Sunday. The male individual confronted the woman in another man’s home and proceeded to fire a single shot into the house. Thankfully, no one was injured during the altercation.
According to the police report, the suspect and a woman, who are believed to be an estranged couple, departed the residence in the woman’s car. As per the statement, an altercation occurred, and the vehicle came to a halt at East Avenue H and Challenger Way in Lancaster.
According to the Sheriff’s Department, the suspect arrived in Palmdale at 2:09 a.m. and proceeded to shoot himself inside the victim’s car, which was parked outside a family member’s house.
The suspect was treated for a possible gunshot wound at a hospital close by. As of Sunday evening, a spokesperson for the sheriff’s office stated that the suspect’s condition was critical. At this time, no additional information regarding the identities of the suspect and victim is being disclosed.
The Sheriff’s Department has released a statement indicating that their homicide detectives are currently investigating the incident to determine what exactly transpired.
