According to court documents, a 51-year-old father from Los Angeles, identified as Robbert, is now facing a potential prison sentence of over thirty years. He recently pleaded guilty to attempted murder and kidnapping charges related to an incident in June 2020. The incident involved his two young daughters, and prosecutors allege that he abducted them before intentionally driving off a cliff into the water. The motive behind this act was reportedly an argument with the victim’s mother.
During the investigation, authorities uncovered that the father had abducted the children from his parent’s home following a planned visit the previous evening and fled with them. The investigation was initiated when the victim’s mother contacted the authorities to report that her children’s father had taken them without consent. The ex-wife also informed the authorities that her husband had sent her messages, in which he allegedly made threats to harm the children.
During the rescue operation, a courageous officer utilized a dog leash to descend and rescue the children. Amid this heroic act, the defendant was overheard shouting about his ex-wife. According to court records, the 51-year-old father will be sentenced next month and could potentially face over thirty years in prison.
