The authorities have released the identity of the man who tragically lost his life in Ladera Heights after colliding with a fire hydrant. However, the cause of his death is still unknown.
Micheal Worrell, aged 64, passed away, as confirmed by the Los Angeles County Office of Medical Examiner. The exact cause of his death is currently under investigation.
According to Officer Sean Lough from the California Highway Patrol, a crash was reported at 3:13 a.m. on Thursday. The incident occurred at the intersection of West Slauson and Corning avenues. Upon arrival, officers discovered an unresponsive victim inside a gold Chevy Malibu that had collided with a fire hydrant.
Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics pronounced Worrell dead at the scene.
The crash was being investigated by the CHP.
