According to officials, the fatal shooting of a man in Paramount on Sunday night by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department followed a domestic argument between a father and son.
According to a news release by LASD, a man reported to deputies that he was punched in the face by his son, who is 30 years old, after a verbal argument. The incident took place just after 9 p.m. at the 8400 block of Quimby Street.
According to the official statement, law enforcement officers discovered the son in the backyard. The authorities have not disclosed his name yet. The son was carrying a pair of scissors that were approximately 8 inches long.
Upon the use of a less-lethal stun gun, the younger man proceeded to make a sudden, aggressive approach towards the deputy personnel. This action led to at least one deputy firing their weapon and hitting the man at least once.
The authorities declared him deceased on the spot.
