A resident of Mechanicsville, John William Alvarado, has been arrested on numerous charges, such as attempted first and second-degree murder, assault, and several firearms violations, in connection to a domestic incident that took place on June 22, 2024, at a residence in Great Mills.
Officers discovered spent casings and a blood-stained rag on the front step of the scene during their investigation. The victim received medical treatment at Capitol Regional Medical Center.
According to reports, Alvarado was caught on a security camera at the residence where the incident took place. The footage clearly showed him arriving in a black vehicle and carrying out the assault. Thanks to the footage and other evidence collected at the scene, authorities were able to successfully identify and locate Alvarado.
Due to his past felony history , Alvarado was prohibited from owning firearms. He has been charged with several serious offenses, including attempted murder in the first and second degree, assault in the first and second degree, reckless endangerment, and multiple firearm-related crimes.
According to reports, all incidents took place in St. Mary’s County, Maryland. Alvarado is currently in custody without bail, awaiting further legal proceedings.
