According to the Alameda Police Department, a person of interest is in custody after three individuals were fatally shot in California on Wednesday night.
According to a statement posted on Facebook by the APD, they were contacted by an individual who reported that their neighbor had been shot in the City of Alameda, specifically in the 400 block of Kitty Hawk Road. Upon arriving at the scene, the victim was found by the Alameda police officers. During the process of clearing the residence, APD discovered several family members who had sustained apparent gunshot wounds, including juveniles. Currently, the police have a person of interest in custody, but they have not yet disclosed the motive behind the shooting.
According to the police, three victims have unfortunately passed away and other family members are currently receiving medical treatment at nearby hospitals. This news brings us great sadness.
According to the police, there is currently no indication of any danger to the public. The investigation is still ongoing at this time.
