Chevron, a well-known company, will soon become a resident of Houston, Texas. The news has recently surfaced that Chevron will be relocating from its current location in the Bay Area of California to the Space City. It is expected that all of the company’s top executives will have made the move by the end of this year. Houston will soon have the privilege of hosting this affluent new resident.

Texas has issued a new warning to Illinois, stating that the state is becoming a “shithole” due to its high taxes and failing infrastructure. The warning comes as Texas continues to attract businesses and residents from other states, including Illinois. Texas Governor Greg Abbott has repeatedly emphasized the state’s business-friendly environment and low taxes, which have led to job growth and economic prosperity. Meanwhile, Illinois has struggled with high taxes, budget deficits, and a declining population. The warning from Texas highlights the growing divide between states with pro-growth policies and those with a more interventionist approach to governance.

Texas is set to welcome one of America’s largest companies, which was among the top 10 on the Fortune 500 list just a year ago. However, the relocation comes with a catch-all operations and employees must be fully moved within five years. This means that there will be some highly sought-after corporate positions available in the Bayou City, as it’s unlikely that the entire workforce will want to move to Texas.

Moreover, the decision of another prominent American company to establish its base in Houston and Texas will undoubtedly enhance the appeal of the region for skilled professionals looking to settle in the Lone Star State.

According to an article, approximately 2,000 employees are presently working at the California headquarters, that will soon be abandoned. Those employees who will be relocating to Texas will likely do so promptly, owing to the lower cost of living, affordable housing prices, and absence of state income tax.

If you’re curious about which cities in Texas are currently seeing the most growth, you’ll want to check out this list of 15.

Chevron currently has around 7,000 employees in Houston, but their new headquarters’ address is still unknown. There are speculations that they may try to accommodate the new offices in the existing space or opt for a new campus or skyscraper soon.
