According to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office, Jesus Castorena, aged 43, is the individual who lost his life in a tragic accident. The crash occurred on the backroads of the Angeles National Forest, west of Agua Dulce, and resulted in four individuals being thrown down a ravine for over 400 feet.
According to Luis Garcia, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Fire Department, first responders received notification of an off-road vehicle crash at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Thursday. The vehicle had gone over 400 feet down the side of Rowher Canyon Trail, near Sierra Highway in Agua Dulce.
Paramedics pronounced Castorena dead at the scene.
The hospital received three injured individuals who were in the same vehicle. One of them was airlifted by a helicopter, while the other two were transported by ground ambulance.
As of Monday, it is unclear what the status of the three survivors is.
An off-road vehicle has been involved in another crash in less than 24 hours.
Two individuals were rescued on Wednesday when their off-road vehicle fell around 100 feet off the side of Fall Canyon Mountain Way and Texas Canyon Truck Trail in the Angeles National Forest, west of Agua Dulce. They were hoisted and airlifted to the hospital for treatment.
