A Southern California lady has been placed under arrest for reportedly killing her spouse by slashing her with a samurai sword.
The incident happened on Thursday, July 18, in San Dimas, at the 300 block of S. Huntington Ave., according to a news release from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Video acquired by KTLA reveals that the woman carrying a sword was spotted strolling alone in the street when police arrived. She then reportedly dropped the weapon once an officer approached her.
The woman was “suffering numerous cuts and lacerations on her body,” according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Lt. Daniel Vizcarra, who also said that the woman led them “to a residence on the street where the deputies find an additional female suffering also from lacerations, who was later pronounced dead at the scene.”
“And as they continued through the residence, an additional female was found in the residence unharmed, who was also transferred to a local hospital due to a medical emergency,” he said.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department released an update on Wednesday, July 24, identifying the victim as Chen Chen Fei, 47, and the suspected attacker as her wife, Weichien Huang, 44.
Upon his arrest, Huang was charged with murder.
“After conducting an inquiry, the authorities discovered that Huang and her spouse, Fei, disagreed within their home. Huang eventually used a sword to assault Fei, according to the update. “Fei’s mother was also attacked and severely injured; however, was able to gain control of the sword and fled the residence looking for help.”
The department reports that Fei’s mother’s injuries from the attack are still being treated at a local hospital in a stable condition.
Trinh Garcia, a San Dimas resident, told KABC-TV that the women lived in the same house and generally kept to themselves, even if the incident is still being investigated.
